Give a second life to things in the Russian people in the blood. Throw out old towels? Well, I do not. A little effort, and "junk" will be transformed into useful things for the home.
No old towels, no hands
If you ruthlessly part with towels, then you never made repairs. When carrying out it, not a single piece of rag is superfluous. With an old towel, you can clean the brushes from paint, wash construction dirt, and in the end, quickly wipe your hands. There are other uses.
Old towels will be helpful:
- in the garage - give the towels to the rags to your husband, and he certainly will find use for them;
- for cleaning the house - turn the towel into a floor rag (see below for a detailed master class);
- To clean the entrance - use newly made rags to clean the floor and walls in the entrance. And it’s useful, and throwing it out later is not a pity;
- in the bathroom - if you have been looking for a comfortable washcloth for a long time or dreamed of a soft and beautiful rug, sew it yourself;
- for the kitchen - excellent tacks are obtained from dense matter;
- for pets - you can wipe the paws of animals after the street with an old towel. And also it can be turned into a cozy and comfortable couch;
- for young children - is your child just learning to hold a spoon in his hands? Then you probably need bibs. From one old towel you can sew 4-7 bibs for the baby;
- soft toys and finger theater - if there are irreducible stains on towels, cut off the surviving part. Use it for sewing soft toys, finger theater, crafts in kindergarten.
MK for the manufacture of comfortable floor rags
Of course, a towel rag cannot be compared in quality with a microfiber cloth. But the latter is sometimes frankly a pity to let go when it comes to cleaning in some utility room or in the country.
How to sew a rag from a towel:
Everything is very simple and fast. By the way, it’s not necessary to use Velcro. For fixing on a mop, you can sew loops and buttons on a rag.
MK for tack manufacturing
Usually batting is used for making tack. It withstands high temperatures and reliably protects the hands of the hostess from burns. But if you have an old thick towel, batting is not needed.
Sewing a tack is very simple:
- We place the palm on a piece of paper, protrude the thumb and circle.
- We add 3-4 cm from all sides and cut out the template along the intended line.
- Fold the towel in 3-4 layers.
- Pin the template with pins.
- Cut out.
- Sew with a stitching seam around the circumference, leaving a hole for the brush.
- We turn out.
- We trim the edge with an oblique trim.
- From it we make a loop for hanging the tack.
MK for the manufacture of washcloths
Many people prefer to wash themselves with soap rather than all kinds of shower gels. In this case, a pocket washcloth is useful. It is very convenient: the soap is located inside, does not slip out of the hands and does not fall.
How to sew a washcloth from an old towel:
We turn out the pocket, put the soap inside - and you're done!
Moisten a washcloth with water, rub it with your hands to whip the foam. After use, do not forget to remove a piece of soap from it and dry it.
MK: bath headband
It often happens that a terry towel wears out only in the center. If the edges retained their original softness and did not shed, you can make this beautiful dressing for water procedures out of an old towel:
You will need:
- 3 pieces of terry cloth: 70 x 20 cm, 20 x 20 cm and 14 x 14 cm;
- linen elastic 2.2 m long;
- threads in color, sewing needle and scissors.
How to sew a fashionable dressing:
From old towels you can make a lot of useful things. Personally, they never linger on me. My opinion: an additional rag is not superfluous in the household. If there is a mood, I sew from the towels tack, I already made a bandage, washcloth and soon I plan to take up the rug. How do you dispose of old towels?
