The coordinated work of nodes and mechanisms can be disrupted by a bone from a bra in a washing machine. Sometimes this is accompanied by a complete blockage of the operation of the equipment or an incomprehensible noise and breakdown of individual elements of the SMA. No matter how you try, a foreign object has penetrated the tank. How to fix it?
What is the danger of a piece of lingerie?
The danger is the material of the manufacture of the part. The bone from the bra often consists of coated metal, so if it gets inside the machine, it can rust and contaminate the laundry. If a part of the part sticks out of the hole in the drum, then with rapid rotations it will easily tear underwear. And this is what compared to the upcoming repair. Here's what happens if the fittings get in:
- To the tank. The sharp part can pierce its wall, which will result in a serious and expensive repair.
- In the heater. Clinging to the heater, the part will damage or tear off the heating element.
- In the rubber seal of the hatch. A damaged cuff will lead to leakage and repair of not only equipment, but also the kitchen.
Finally, the object in the drum can easily block the rotation, so until you get the object, washing will be impossible.
How to pull out an iron bone?
If after washing you notice that there is not enough bone in the bra, first examine the walls of the drum. Also, a foreign object creates extraneous noise during rotation: clang and rattle.
Shine a flashlight into the hole of the hatch, carefully examining the cells of the drum and running your hand over the surface. Lucky if the part can be removed in such a simple way. After that, check the cuff for integrity.
If the bone has sunk deeper, you have to disassemble the technique. Below are a few options that will help you cope with the task on your own.
Take out the heater
This option will tell you how to remove an item from the front-loading CMA. Ideal for models in which the heater is located behind the rear panel.
If, nevertheless, an element of underwear fell into the tank, then you can get it through the landing hole of the heater. Of course, for this you need to remove the heating element, and here's how to do it:
- Disconnect the washing machine from the power supply, turn off the inlet valve.
- Prepare a bucket for water and disconnect the communications from the SMA housing (a bucket will be needed when water flows from the sludge).
- Remove the bolts around the perimeter of the rear panel, remove it to the side.
- Below you will see the conclusions of the heater.
- Take a photo of the location of the wires to connect them in the correct order.
- Disconnect the wiring from the heater contacts one at a time.
- Twist the central nut and push the bolt inward.
- Pry the heater with a screwdriver, remove it from the socket.
Did the bone fall into the spiral of the element? Then you can get it with him. Carefully check the heater for damage, even scratches and small cracks indicate that the heater needs replacement.
Shine a flashlight into the landing hole and try to get the part with a thin wire. Often, several items of clothing are immediately found at the bottom of the tank. After that, install the heater in the same place. If using an old heater, change the sealing rubber, which will be damaged during dismantling.
Here's how to make repairs in the workshop:
Attention! After dismantling, make sure that the machine does not leak by running the test wash mode.
Clean the drain pipe
Why do I need to remove the drain pipe? There are two reasons for this:
- Get the hit item.
- The heater is located behind the front panel and it is easier to remove the pipe.
Indeed, disassembling the front wall takes a lot of time and effort. But you can get to the branch pipe through the bottom or back wall in the washer (for example, in Bosch models).
How to get a bone:
- Turn the SMA housing on its side (lay the blanket in advance so as not to damage the coating).
- If the typewriter has a bottom, remove it. The bottom is mounted on bolts or latches.
- A black pipe leads from the tank to the pump. To unclip a metal collar, unscrew a fixing bolt.
- Now, using pliers, unclip the clamp.
- Disconnect and clean the nozzle.
- If the bone has not fallen, then look into the landing hole and remove the stuck item from there.
Is your machine equipped with full leakage protection? Then remove the bottom will be problematic, because you have to disconnect the wiring of the sensor. It’s easier to get to the pipe through the back wall. How to remove it is described above.
We take out the part from the tank
It also happens that the part is stuck not from below, but from the side or top of the tank. Then it is not possible to get it without disassembling the tank. This process takes place differently in washing machines of various manufacturers. For example, in the Ariston machine the tank is not collapsible and you will have to saw it into two parts. Yes, and hardly anyone wants to completely disassemble the technique to remove the bones.
There is only one way out - to make the part appear at the bottom of the tank and get it in the first or second way. Act:
- Remove the rear panel by unscrewing the screws around the perimeter (sometimes you need to remove the top cover).
- Remove the drive belt from the tank and engine pulley.
- Fasten the pulley so that it does not rotate, unscrew the central bolt. Remove the wheel from its place.
- Tap the drum shaft lightly with a rubber mallet.
- When the shaft moves slightly, rotate the drum by hand.
- The sound of a rolling bone must be heard.
As soon as it is at the bottom, get it through the outlet of the heater or pipe. Replace the pulley and drive belt.
We clean the drain system
Plastic fittings break easily when the drum rotates, so it may turn out to get stuck in the drain filter or pump. The latter often leads to breakdown of the pump and blocking of work. Start the test with a filter that protects the pump from debris. Depending on the model of the SMA, it is located behind a solid or small base panel.
What to do:
- Prepare a water tank.
- Open the base panel. Most often, it is mounted on latches.
- Unscrew the filter plug.
- Clean up clogging.
Also check the landing hole for debris. If the bone is not found, you will have to move on. The next drain pipe in line. How to check it is described above. We move to the pump. The element could block the rotation of the impeller, so the machine does not drain the water.
To determine where the node is located, take a look at the instructions. In many models of Ardo, Veko, Samsung, Candy, it is possible to get the pump through the bottom. For "Electrolux" and Zanussi will have to remove the back. Owners of Bosch, Siemens and AEG have a more difficult path, here it is necessary to dismantle the front panel. The previous disassembly methods have already been described, so we will tell you how to act in the latter case.
Working process:
- Remove the top cover.
- Remove the powder dispenser.
- Remove the bolts on the control panel, release the latches and remove. Wiring can not be turned off.
- Open the door. Bend the cuff of the hatch and remove the metal clamp.
- Fill the rubber into the tank, unscrew the door lock bolts, disconnect the wires.
- Remove the bolts around the perimeter of the panel, lift and remove from place.
Below you will see a pump with inlet hoses. Disconnect the unit from the power supply, release the hose and hose clamps. Unscrew the screws of the pump and, having scrolled, pull it out. Now look into the snail and impeller assembly. It is good if the bone is detected without causing serious harm to the pump. Carefully check all elements at the time of damage, reassemble the machine in the reverse order.
How to get to the pump, the master shows:
It is bad when a foreign object interferes with the normal operation of the equipment. Therefore, clean as soon as possible. Otherwise, the accessories will become clogged with dirt, rust, which will lead to unpleasant odors and contamination of the laundry.
The bone is not the only thing that appears in the car. Often during the repair, craftsmen find such items:
- Small debris and small things often end up in the cuff of the hatch. After each cycle, the rubber must be checked, cleaned, wiped with a dry cloth.
- Self-tapping screws and nails fall out of the drain pipe when cleaning. Well, if sharp objects did not pierce the part and did not lead to leakage.
- Plastic elements, buttons, coins are often found in the drain filter. It is recommended to clean its mesh at least twice a month.
- Small toys, matches and buttons get stuck in the pump and block the impeller.
- Pins and dowels slip through all the obstacles and end up in the drain hose.
A small part will not harm the washing machine? Maybe so, but there are times when the item damages the heater, blocks the pump, breaks the nozzles and adds a hole in the tank. Therefore, do not let things go by themselves. If possible, remove the foreign object as soon as possible.
