In a washing machine, the hatch door reliably closes not only with a mechanical, but also with an electronic lock. Such measures were not taken accidentally - the manufacturer completely protected the user from an emergency. After the program ends, after a few seconds the hatch should unlock.
If this does not happen and the door of the washing machine does not open, there is a problem that needs to be fixed.
Why the door does not open in the washing machine
If the signal informs you that the program has ended, but when you try to remove the laundry, the door does not open, then it means a breakdown. Consider for what reasons this could happen.
To make it clear where to look for the cause, you need to understand the SMA device. The hatch door has a latch handle that locks the hatch in the closed position. Before the start of water intake, a click is heard, which indicates the inclusion of UBL - an electronic lock.
The control board receives a signal from the UBL about locking the lock and gives a command to draw water into the tank.
After the end of the cycle, the lock will be closed until the water has completely drained from the tank.
But if after a few minutes the hatch does not open, do so:
- Pay attention to the display and control panel. Perhaps the system issued an error code on the scoreboard. After decryption, you will understand where to look for damage.
- Unplug the washing machine completely. Wait 15-20 minutes, then turn it on again. If a system malfunction occurs, then after a reboot the normal operation of the machine should resume.
- Try restarting the program loop. If the signal of the module has not reached the lock of the hatch, then with the start of the program its work should resume. Do the same after a power outage in the room.
If all else fails, one of these failures may have occurred:
- There are problems in the drain system or pump. Water does not drain, so the castle does not open.
- The mechanical part of the door handle has broken.
- The hatch lock does not work.
- Defective electronic module.
Now you know why the hatch can be locked. What to do in case of such a problem and how to open the washer, read below.
How to open the door of the AGR yourself
Before proceeding with the repair of the car LG, Samsung, BOSCH, Indesit, you need to open the hatch door. Take a look, maybe there is water left in the drum - then drain it.
What to do:
- Unplug the washing machine.
- Open the small sunroof under the front of the machine. To do this, use a flathead screwdriver to loosen the latches.
- Prepare a container and drain the water by unscrewing the filter.
If your SMA does not have a bottom, then you can get to the hatch lock from below.
First drain the water from the dispensing tray so that when the body is tilted, it does not spill onto the control module.
Then tilt the case back and stick your hand from the bottom to open the door of the washing machine.
Checking the door handle
After opening, inspect and twist the handle. If she moves too freely, then broken. You can replace the handle yourself by removing the door with glass from the body. Pre-purchase a repair kit for replacement.
Inspection of the UBL castle
First you need to externally inspect the lock and wiring. To do this, unscrew the two screws that secure the hatch. Then bend the cuff and remove the metal clamp. Putting your hand behind the case, get the lock.
- Inspect the UBL wiring. If burnt parts are visible, replace it. In this case, the UBL loses connection with the control board.
- The lock itself is checked with a multimeter. Having put probes to contacts of UBL, measure resistance.
- If there are no indicators on the screen, the lock must be changed.
If you are faced with the fact that the hatch does not open for a long time after washing, do not be alarmed. You can deal with the situation yourself. Regardless of the brand of the washer (Siemens, Candy, Zanussi, Ariston, Gorenie), in models with front-loading the lock is replaced the same way.
Follow our recommendations to quickly open the door of the washing machine and continue washing.
